The pandemic has contributed to the increase of the pet adoption rate to fight loneliness during isolation.
Now, when the world is slowly getting back to normal, this project can be an answer to many hassles and stresses of dog ownership, offering dog daycare, pick-up/drop-off options, baths, and boarding services.
Process
Our team has done the following:
- updated Django and Python versions to the newest ones step by step, fixing all warnings and finding solutions for the libraries that are no longer supported.
- covered the code with 550+ unit tests;
- added new punch card settings;
- implemented a new daycare template, used by both dog owners and platform staff to easily set visits, pick-up/drop-off options, and baths for the dogs.
Result
Like thousands of people across the globe, we love our pets. It was a fantastic experience working on the HappyDogs project in close collaboration with the customer (daily updates, occasional calls, live code reviews, etc.) to help upgrade the platform and add new functionality.
